Taygen is an old Shaper, the ruler of the Dera Reaches and a member of the Shaper Council. He is married to Consort Leena.
Beliefs[]
Taygen believes that the rebellion happened because the Shapers were too lax with their creations. Thus, he believes that in order to prevent the creations to rebel, the Shapers must be very severe and cautious with them : creations guarding cities must be placed into pens and released only when needed, war creations that are not needed in the moment and serviles who have no work to do must be placed into camps, war creations must be regularly absorbed and remade to prevent rogue tendencies to develop, and so on.
But more importantly, he believes that in order to definitely put an end to the rebellion, we must simply start over. That means, killing all the existing creations and recreating the needed ones. To fulfill his plan, Taygen decided to create a powerful disease that would only target and kill creations : the Purity Agent.
Relationships[]
Taygen is on bad term with at least Rawal, Astoria and Alwan. They think that he is a madman and discourage the playable character to go to the Dera Reaches, and even if Alwan will give a written authorization to the playable character after he helped him, permitting him to cross the frontier between the Dera Reaches and the Storm Plains, he will give it reluctantly.
