Gavrila is a Sholai mage on Sucia Island. He says he is 'a fighter, not a teacher'. Like his raiders, he is described as 'very tired and dirty', though unwounded. Unlike the other rebels, he and his men have used a number of canisters, although they no longer do so because of their mind-warping effects. Also unlike other Sholai, he and his fellows can speak your language well, having worked hard with the aim of being diplomats. If friendly, he can teach the PC some syntax and writing of the Sholai Language.

He rebelled against Trajkov and his soldiers about the same time that Astrov and Masha did. He will oppose the Playable Character at Crossroads if they possess the Taker Amulet.

If the PC does not have the Taker Amulet, Gavrila will be 'very relieved' to see the PC. He warns the PC that he is in a place of great danger, and describes himself as Trajkov's enemy. He says that Trajkov's people are too few to spare any to wipe out the Rebels, who meanwhile 'block him in and interfere', and so they are in stalemate. Regarding the Geneforge, he says that Trajkov keeps saying that the one who uses it 'will gain power, will become like a God'.

He is able to provide information about the area, describing the research fortress to the east, the workshops to the west and south, and the tunnels to the northwest, which he thinks lead to a back entrance to Trajkov's fortress. He says that the PC will be doomed if he attempts to attack the fortress from the front gate, and hints that he may be able to pass the mines with a wand. Gavrila does not know what is in the workshops, but notes that Trajkov thought they contained valuable artifacts and has 'wasted valuable men and women trying to raid them'.

With enough Leadership, the PC can convince Gavrila to give him or her some pods.

Quotations[]

  • When asked who he is: "We are the true enemies of Trajkov. We are the true diplomats who want to meet with your people, but can't, because of Trajkov's lust for the Geneforge. We are here to fight him."
  • About the other rebels: "We are strong and on the side of truth."
